Questions about playing the tuba

Is there a full tuba course?

No. For the tuba, tonestro has songs with backing music and a theory course in bass clef, not a full step-by-step course.

Which tuba can I use?

A tuba in B♭, C, F or E♭. Choose yours in the settings so the notes match your instrument.

Can I practice with a silent brass system?

No. tonestro needs the real sound of your tuba. Silent brass systems, practice mutes with headphones and external microphones are not supported.

Which devices can I use?

Tuba lessons run on iPhone and iPad (iOS 15 or newer) and on Android phones (Android 8 or newer, at least 4 GB of memory). tonestro needs an internet connection.

What does it cost?

You can try tonestro free for 7 days with the yearly plan. The app shows you the price before you buy. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you won’t be charged. You can cancel in the app under Profile → Settings → Manage Subscription.
